The 193-Member United Nations General Assembly formally adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, along with a set of bold new Global Goals, which Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon hailed as a universal, integrated and transformative vision for a better world.

Statement by the Chair of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, Professor Megan Davis
The present report is submitted pursuant to General Assembly resolution 69/146, entitled “Follow-up to the Second World Assembly on Ageing”. As Member States have turned their attention to the elaboration of a new development agenda beyond 2015 with the drafting of the sustainable development goals, the Assembly recognized in resolution 69/146 that there was a “continuing need to give due consideration to the situation of older persons in the ongoing discussion on the post - 2015 development agenda”.
This Agenda is a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity. It also seeks to strengthen universal peace in larger freedom.
Joan Carling (Philippines), Member of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) attended the final inter-governmental negotiations on the post-2015 development agenda from 20 to 24 July 2014.
The Global Forum on Youth, Peace and Security took place from 21 to 22 of August 2015 and was hosted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and co-organized by the United Nations represented, on behalf of the Inter-Agency Network on Youth Development (IANYD), by Office of the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, Peacebuilding Support Office, UNFPA and UNDP, in partnership with Search for Common Ground and the United Network of Young Peacebuilders.
