17th Session Of The Conference Of States Parties To The CRPD (COSP17)

The 17th Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (COSP17) is a significant conference where member states discuss the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). This year, the conference will take place from 11 to 13 June in the General Assembly and CR.4 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

The main theme is “Rethinking Disability Inclusion in the Current International Juncture and Ahead of the Summit of the Future."

The conference will focus on 3 topics including:
1. International cooperation to promote technology innovations and transfer for an inclusive future
2. Persons with disabilities in situations of risk and humanitarian emergencies
3. Promoting the rights of persons with disabilities to decent work and sustainable livelihood

The conference will gather government representatives, civil society organizations, and persons with disabilities from various countries to discuss important topics concerning disability inclusion. Additionally, the conference will include a Civil Society Forum on June 10 in CR.4 from 10am to 6pm, as well as over 60 side events.
